11 AM to 3 PM - FACE PAINTING with KT’s Party Faces and Antsy Pants Paints
11 AM to 4 PM - BALLOON TWISTING
11 AM to 4 PM - INTERACTIVE ART PROJECT with Monroe Arts Center
1 to 3 PM - CHARACTERS 2 LIFE
1:30 to 2:30 PM - BIG BUBBLE BLAST - with bubbles ranging from thousands of tiny bubbles to supersize bigger-than-a-car. Non-stop bubble chasing and bubble popping action.
3:30 to 5:30 PM - CELEBRITY MEET & GREET with IVORY the Goat, JOHNNIE the miniature donkey, WEDGIE the Cheese Days Mascot
3:30 to 5:30 PM - STILT WALKER on the festival grounds

Noon - Comedy Juggling Variety Show - super fast-paced high-energy show with audience participation, interactive juggling and balancing stunts, and a huge finale!

2 PM - New Glarus Kinderchor
3 PM - 23 Dance Space

CHEESE DAYS

Back in 1914, the concept of Cheese Days originated from the notion that if some little town in Illinois could have a festival commemorating sauerkraut, then a celebration based on cheese would be an even better idea.

A group of local businessmen planned the festivities in just nine days, driving a roadster through the city of Monroe to publicize the event. A hand-lettered sign attached to the vehicle proclaimed “FIRST CHEESE DAY COMMITTEE 1914 – WE STARTED SOMETHING!”

And did they ever.

100 years later, we invite you to take part in our centennial Cheese Days 2014 – where old-world tradition has generated an out-of-this-world celebration.

Help us celebrate our Swiss heritage with traditional music, dance, drinks, food, and extraordinary cheese!
