Farm Tour tickets will be available in advance for the Sneak Peek Farm Tours and Tours 1, 2 and 3. Buy tickets at the Cheese Days Store (cash, check, card), or online by clicking SHOP on the website cheesedays.com. Tickets for Tour 4 will be available only at the festival.
Farm Tours have been a Cheese Days tradition since 1965! This year’s festival will feature ticketed tours showcasing two farms in Green County: Wegmueller Farm and DeVoe Family Farm.
Wegmueller Farm is home to a herd of cows, a flock of chickens, a passel of pigs, and The Brumby – Farmer Dan’s herd of more than 20 horses. The Wegmuellers offer equine experiences and trail rides, and a farm-stay vacation rental. Owners Dan and Ashley can provide a real-world perspective on today’s agricultural industry, along with their background as fourth generation on this family farm. And it’s really all in the family: Dan’s grandfather Ernest Wegmueller was a farm tour host back at those first tours in 1965, and his parents John and Becky Wegmueller were honored as Cheese Days King and Queen in 2012.
DeVoe Family Farm is home to cows, calves, a donkey, goats, chickens and peacocks. Owners Alan and Yvonne DeVoe are no strangers to opening up their farm for visitors, over the years doing many tours and hosting Green County Breakfast on the Farm. The couple began farming in 1987.
SUNDAY, AUGUST 30 - SNEAK PEEK FARM TOURS
Boarding begins 1 PM - by Grace Lutheran Church, 1025 15th Ave. This tour will visit both farms, and will be led by Kris Winkler and Lynn Lokken. Drop off will be at Grace Lutheran Church at 4:45 PM. (There will likely be a few special guests on this tour, AND some fun surprises:)
FRIDAY SEPT 18 - FARM TOUR #1
Boarding begins 2:15 PM - east of Grace Lutheran Church, 1025 15th Ave., adjacent to Maker’s Market. Drop off is same location at 4:30 PM. Guided tour led by Kris - a Monroe native and active volunteer with many groups. Kris is a Master Gardener, a quilting enthusiast, and a member of the Monroe Swiss Singers. Guided tour at DeVoe Family Farm - with hosts Alan and Yvonne DeVoe, who have been farming since 1987. Their two daughters and son grew up on the farm, and now their grandchildren like to visit. You’ll meet dairy cows and calves, a donkey, goats, peacocks, and chickens. Farm crops include alfalfa, corn, and soybeans. (Time at the farm would be 2:45 pm – 4:10 pm)

Boarding begins 2:30 PM - east of Grace Lutheran Church, 1025 15th Ave., adjacent to Maker’s Market. Drop off is same location at 4:45 PM. Guided tour led by Lynn - a Monroe native and active volunteer with many groups. Lynn is a Master Gardener and a quilting enthusiast. She serves as a docent at the Green County Historical Society Museum and the National Historic Cheesemaking Center. Guided tour at Wegmueller Farm - with hosts Dan and Ashley Wegmueller. This farm is home to cows and calves, pigs, chickens, and The Brumby - Dan’s herd of horses. Wegmueller Farm offers a variety of equine experiences and guided trail rides, along with a farm-stay vacation rental. (Time at the farm would be 3 pm – 4:25 pm)
SATURDAY SEPT 19 - FARM TOUR #3
Boarding begins 8:30 AM - east of Grace Lutheran Church, 1025 15th Ave., adjacent to Maker’s Market. Drop off is same location at 10:45 AM. Guided tour led by Lynn and Kris, Monroe natives, good friends, and active volunteers with many groups. Both are Master Gardeners and quilting enthusiasts. Lynn serves as a docent at the Green County Historical Society Museum and the National Historic Cheesemaking Center. Kris is a member of the Monroe Swiss Singers. (stop in later on Saturday to see her and the Swiss Heritage Exhibit she helps with at Turner Hall.) Guided tour at DeVoe Family Farm - with hosts Alan and Yvonne DeVoe, who have been farming since 1987. Their two daughters and son grew up on the farm, and now their grandchildren like to visit. You’ll meet dairy cows and calves, a donkey, goats, peacocks, and chickens. Farm crops include alfalfa, corn, and soybeans. (Time at the farm would be 9 am – 10:25 am)
SATURDAY SEPT 19 - FARM TOUR #4 - (tickets available only at festival, starting Friday, Sept. 18 @ 10 AM)
Boarding begins 1 PM - east of Grace Lutheran Church, 1025 15th Ave., adjacent to Maker’s Market. Drop off is same location at 3:15 PM. Guided tour led by Lynn - a Monroe native and active volunteer with many groups. Lynn is a Master Gardener and a quilting enthusiast. She serves as a docent at the Green County Historical Society Museum and the National Historic Cheesemaking Center. Guided tour at Wegmueller Farm - with hosts Dan and Ashley Wegmueller. This farm is home to cows and calves, pigs, chickens, and The Brumby - Dan’s herd of horses. Wegmueller Farm offers a variety of equine experiences and guided trail rides, along with a farm-stay vacation rental. Special guest at this tour will be Wisconsin Holstein Princess Brianne Vandoske. (Time at the farm would be 1:30 pm – 2:55 pm)
To give out of town guests a chance to get on the tours, tickets for Tour #4 will be sold ONLY during the festival.
Half of the tickets will be available starting on Fri, Sept 18 starting at 10 AM, with remaining tickets available Sat, Sept 19 at 10 AM. Buy tickets (cash only) at INFO TRAILER west side of Square. OR - if there are no-shows you may be able to get on the tour. Go to boarding area and find tour guide Lynn Lokken.
>>Note: tour involves climbing several steps to board a bus, standing, and walking on uneven ground. Please no strollers, and no dogs. You may wish to bring a bottle of water. Porta potty available at the farm.
Please note that for Farm Tours during the festival, parking will NOT be available in the municipal parking lot near where the buses will board.
