child must be 6 years old by the start of the festival,
and not older than 9 years by the end of the festival

child must live in Green County

child must be dressed in Swiss costume for judging –
costume may be purchased or hand-made

an adult must accompany the child to all events, as
well as provide transportation to and from events

applications are generally due at the beginning of June
in a Cheese Days year

judging generally takes place in mid to late June, on
a Saturday beginning at 8 a.m.

twelve-minute interviews are scheduled in alphabetical
order, with each contestant meeting for 4 minutes with
each of the three judges

applicants are judged on personality, appearance, speaking
ability, and costume
-
judges will be from out of the county
-
one judge familiar with Swiss culture and costumes will
evaluate costumes of the contestants
-
only parents can accompany contestants to the interviews
– relatives and friends are invited to attend the
afternoon award ceremony at the Monroe Middle School Auditorium
-
children will be asked to sing the Cheese Days song
in a group
-
applicants should be prepared to state their name, parent’s
names, and what they like about Cheese Days
